HISTORY OF
UPPA In 2005, it was determined that there were very few places where Papillon and Phalene owners and admires could openly discuss their adventures with these lovely little dogs, known as the "Butterfly Dog".
It also was determined that an association could be formed for those individuals who wished to get together to discuss how to show a papillon or phalene, grooming techniques, upcoming shows, or just discuss the breed in general.
Slowly, but surely, this dream has become a reality. This group is currently composed of dedicated breeders, owners and fanciers who strive to improve the breed and help others along the way. We have members from both coasts and many places in between. Our primary concentration has been in breeding and showing the Papillon and Phalene in the confirmation ring but, we are exploring the world of obedience and agility.
This organization has taken on an official name, the United Papillon and Phalene Association.
Meetings and discussions were held. From these discussions, the association bylaws and code of ethics have been established, officers were elected, and the association has come together.
